Ljóssál Lóðursson is a writer of esotericism and occultism born in Colombia. He has dedicated 21 years of his life to the practice of different spiritual paths. He learned traditional indigenous medicine from the Muysca and Pastos ethnic groups. He is co-founder of the initiatory group AONS in Latin America dedicated to the Alchemy of the Left Hand Path. He is the founder of Editorial Ophiolatreia, where he has published more than a dozen books on alchemy and Nordic tradition, and has written articles for different anthologies and magazines in North America and Europe such as Qliphoth Opus I and III, as well as Sabbatica Vol I, II and III.
He has dedicated himself to the study and experience of Nordic spirituality, being the first collaborator and teacher of Modern Runology [operative] in Latin America certified by the A.I.R (Accademia Italiana Runologi) in Europe, carrying out various investigations throughout the Scandinavian peninsula. Ljóssál has deepened in the different aspects of Nordic magic, and has been instructed by the main personalities of Sweden in this field. He participated in the teachings of Thomas Karlsson Ph.D. in his numerous courses on Esoteric Runology, learned with Lars Magnar Enoksen the principles of “galdralag” or the metric of incantations and has been a student of Johannes Björn Gårdbäck in the tradition of Swedish folk magic also known as ‘trolldom’.
In his personal contribution to runology, he worked together with the Icelandic folklorist Kári Pálsson in the compilation, translation (into English and Spanish) and cataloguing of the “faldar deilir” or ‘hidden explanations’ of the runes, which reveal their main magical and poetic characteristics. These are scattered throughout the various Icelandic magical manuscripts, such compilation is available in the book ‘Rúnalist’. Later, in his book called ‘Rúnameistari’, he presents a completely unpublished exegesis on the creation of the different runic incantations and poems.
Ljóssál has studied the phenomenon of death in various cultures, being certified by ASOMEF (Association of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences) in Thanatopraxy and Dissection in Colombia.
He has lectured at different congresses on magic and occultism in different parts of the world: Occulture (2018) in Berlin, Sabiduría Ancestral (2019) Ecuador, Sylvan gnosis I (2021) Spain, Sylvan gnosis II (2022) Spain and Lilith-con (2023) Spain. He expresses his musical ability through the dark and ritual ambient genres with the group Blakkseiðr, he has released two works in Colombia and England. He currently teaches his approach to SMI in Salmantika svartiskóli, with students in Germany, Austria, Colombia, Ecuador, Spain, USA, Mexico, Sweden and other countries.
